Don't expect to find televisions at this local hot spot because Idle Hour prides itself on good ol' fashioned conversation. "This is a Bar"

If you don't like the Idle Hour you should probably not wonder so far from Cross Street. Hands down the best neighborhood bar in 'Federal Hill' (ok so it's kind of in SoBo...but close enough). Wine tasting the first Saturday of every month is amazing, you won't be disappointed. And if you've never had a pickle back, well then you have another reason to come by.

    "My Local"

Idle Hour is my local, has been for some time. The music is original, as are the people. It is refreshing to have a bar that prides itself on the amount of good conversation being had, not the number of flat screens. Chartreuse is god awful, there's no doubt about it, however, it somehow tastes better in two places, Paris and Idle Hour. I just consider myself lucky to have this original standout so close to my abode.

Idle Hour is the next to best bar in Federal Hill. It is a true good dive bar! Genuine Federal Hill style! neat and divish---True Baltimore! Artsy crowds fit well in Idle hour. This bar even serves Fernet-Branca! This is actually a good itallian drink. No other bar in Bmore has it. Me and my friends give it a thumbs up!

    "Federal Hill Living Room"

As a 3 year patron of Idle Hour, I can honestly say its the only bar in Federal Hill that is interesting enough to keep me coming back (music, wine, variety nights) yet consistant enough that I always feel welcome there. It's my social (allbeit humble) life hub. PS - Thanks for keeping the bathrooms tidy, the walls interesting, the beer cold, the people diverse and the bartenders friendly.

First Saturday of every month is great Wine tasting. Each month is a new theme, usually wine from a particular country. The owner's bring in a wine expert that knows wines and explains a little about each wine. During the Wine tasting , owners serve up grat little meal that goes particular well with that month's wines. For $20 it's a great deal. Plus, if you like one or more of the wines, you can buy one or more at discounted prices. Great place, great service, Cool Art on the walls!!!
