Setting foot inside this upscale Indian restaurant's dining room unexpectedly transports diners to old world India (despite the entrance's location in the lobby of an apartment building). When you want formal seating, proper service, a garden-like terrace and Indian food that doesn't come in several containers to be assembled at the table (i.e. smaller portions), the Ambassador beckons with a warm grin and a white-gloved hand.
I have eaten here about 6 times in 8 years. The outdoor dining is the only thing that stands out. Food and service is average and the price is totally outrageous for the size of the portions. Nan bread $4.00? Steer clear as our last experience a month ago confirmed the comments above and you will get hosed.
