A nature program designed especially for young people. Increased sightings of bears in our region make it important for us to know more about these animals. Those attending will get a chance to look inside the Bear Education Trunk, which includes a bearskin, bear claws, and the skull of a bear. The group will learn about bear behavior, their habitats, and the long sleep in the winter known as hibernation. The group will also learn about bear cubs and how they mature into full-grown, adult bears. A nature craft will be done by those attending. Refreshments will also be served.
The nature program will finish with “Yellowstone Cubs”, a favorite nature documentary originally shown on the Wonderful World of Disney. This film, produced in 1963, shows the boisterous adventures of two bear cubs, Tuffy and Tubby, in Yellowstone Park. These two cubs are driven by hunger and curiosity as they attempt to find their mother when they are separated from her. Tim Ponder, 410-679-3843.
