The "extra" charges were out of line! July 16, 2013

My boyfriend wanted to watch the home run derby on ESPN and since I don't get that channel on my TV, we headed to Looney's to watch that and have dinner. The bar area was full, so we were seated in the dining room. The TV's were very visible from any seat, so he was able to watch the screen easily.

We were greeted by our server, Ashley, who was very nice with high energy. We both ordered fish and chips. I did not want the fries that come along with the fish, so I asked what could be substituted. I chose the baked potato instead of the fries and also ordered a side salad.

The salad ($3.59) was ample, but I did not care for the toppings of green pepper, fresh mushrooms, onions and black olives. I would have preferred red cabbage & carrots instead. The potato ($2 sub charge!!) was extremely overcooked to the point of being brown and hard inside, instead of fluffy white. The fish was overcooked and past crunchy -- kind of hard to eat. He ordered cocktail sauce instead of the tarter sauce that comes with the meal, and we were charged an addition .50 cents for that! Our meals came to $37, and we did not order drinks! We both drank water. MUCH TO EXPENSIVE FOR BAR FOOD!

If we were going to be charged an additional $2 for a baked potato, we should have been told. That added $4 to our bill for our potatoes. Fish and chips at $12.99 is an acceptable amount, but the add-on charges were over the top. The side salad was a little pricey since I was not having it AS a meal, but instead an added side item! The 50 cents for 'extra dressing' was ridiculous! Our total bill was $37, and that did not count the $8 tip, for a grand total of $45 (with NO DRINKS). We could have had a steak dinner for less!

We did see the show that we wanted to see. However, next time we will find another place to watch it. The prices were much to high for the quality of the food! The sub charges and the extra dressing charges were totally out of line! Our server did a nice job and was friendly. Thanks to her, service was a bright spot. The tip she earned was well deserved. The restaurant charges were out of line! We will not be returning!
