Polar Bear Plunge

Thousands of intrepid philanthropists run headlong into the frigid Chesapeake Bay annually, all in the name of charity. The Maryland State Police support Special Olympics Maryland with this fundraiser, which features a day packed with tailgating, live music and other diversions. New this year -- there's a Pee Wee Plunge for kids 8 and under (it's a shallow kiddie pool with ice cubes).
