Coincidence or not, the sweatiest bar in Fells Point is also one of its best. Simply known as "The Horse," this Baltimore watering hole has been around since 1775, and for good reason: Live music every night, cheap drinks and enough room to have a conversation -- if you so choose.
The Horse is a funky little joint. A little dark hole in the wall, but a nice surprise once inside. Full of the eclectic types and down to earth types--just a weird mix of people overall, but it works somehow...nice live music (depending on the day/time and your preference), great drinks, food and service. Cool decor, bartenders and history behind this centuries old place. It is small and gets very packed so avoid if you are claustrophobic! Other than that, I highly recommend especially if you're up for a once in a lifetime experience.
A group of us were here last night and had a very unpleasant experience. A young man threw a side door to the outside open striking me in the back. When i stated that his action had hurt me he became very confrontational. While we discussed his actions i touched his arm in an attempt to calm him. He then got belligerent with myself and a female friend that was with me during the incident and walked back into the bar stating not to ever put my hands on him and instructed the doorman not to let me back in! My coat and other belongings were still at a table inside. I'm not sure who this gentleman was but be advised if you come across a short muscular guy with cropped hair he isn't customer friendly! Sad!
