I finally made it to the Helmand .... and boy oh boy, was it worth the wait. We started w/ the baby pumpkin appetizer -- it came highly recommended, and it was absolutely delicious. My ravioli dish was very tasty -- and very filling (but it was a "good full"). I did manage to save some room for dessert. The ice cream w/ dates, figs and mangoes totally hit the spot. Make reservations. We went on a Tuesday night, and it was packed.

Don't be afraid to eat outside your comfort zone. The baby pumpkin appetizer and the vegetarian mantwo are great, as is everything else on the menu.

If you haven't eaten the baby pumpkin appetizer here, you haven't had one of the best dishes in Baltimore!

I love a good piece of lamb, and Helmand didn't disappoint. A few of us ordered a bunch of different pieces, and there wasn't a bad meal in the whole bunch....
